Tim attended Desert Sun School from 1978 to 1981.  After graduating from DSS, Tim went to Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hills, California -- a junior college -- studied Engineering and tried to figure out what he was going to be when he grew up.  He got his AA in Engineering and more importantly met his future wife.  Tim transferred to Cal Poly SLO (California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo) where in 1988 he graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  He finds it interesting that Rob Strong went to Cal Poly as well.  (Tim was at Cal Poly from 1985 to1988).

Tim married his wife Leslie in 1988.  He moved to the LA area to work for the Parsons Process Group (an Engineering firm like Bechtel, Fluor, etc).  Tim worked at Parsons until 1999 when he moved to the Houston, Texas area to work for Engineering Design and Testing.  He's a consulting engineer doing forensic work.  Tim says most of his clients are insurance companies.  His job is to answer the questions, "What happened?" and “Can we get someone else to pay for it?”  He says it's interesting work and it gives him a chance to travel.  He mostly works on industrial accident cases but has also worked on residential fires and arson investigations.

Tim says he likes Houston but misses the mountains of California and the coast.  On the other hand, he says the people in Houston are much more friendly then those in the LA basin.  "Life is a little slower in Houston, but not a snails pace," he says.
