Bill was a faculty member at the Desert Sun School / TEPPS from 1979 to 1987. He is married to former faculty member Candy Rheem. He recently sent this update: I left TEPPS in 1987 to pursue a Ph.D. at Stanford. In 1991, I moved to Richmond, VA, where I served for 6 years as an Assistant Professor in The Jepson School of Leadership Studies, University of Richmond. In 1997, I took up a two-year Visiting Professorship in the Leadership Studies Program at the University of San Diego. In 1999, I became Director of the Center for Leadership at National University in San Diego and am currently developing National's first doctoral program -- a multidisciplinary Ph.D. in Leadership Studies. Though I'm often swimming at the San Diego beaches or hiking in the nearby Cuyamaca or Laguna Mountains, I spend much of my time working out at the gym or reading broadly in the field of Leadership Studies. In addition, Candy and I get up to Idyllwild 3 or 4 times a year to hike and to visit "Candy's Creek," a site in the wilderness which Candy's Forest Service colleagues dedicated to her after her many years of service with them. We'd be delighted to hear from any DSS/TEPPS students or faculty. The school was a special place to us for many years, as it was for many others too. Last Updated: 10/03/04 |
